I make this cake once or twice during strawberry season and it's always a big hit. It's another Tina Nordström recipe that I've tweaked a bit. For instance, I omitted the rum and added a pinch of salt to the custard.

Recipe
Ingredients
1 baked nine-inch pie shell
2 pounds quality strawberries (you’ll have some extra berries to snitch or use for garnish)
1 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons butter
couple drops red food coloring (optional)
1 cup whipping cream
3 tablespoons powdered sugar
1. Prick the surface of the pie crust with the tines of fork to allow for steam to escape and avoid bubbles in the crust. Bake the crust for eight to twelve minutes or until it just starts to brown.

I know that Lala0428 wanted something to help brighten her smile, so I thought that I would help her out today! And believe me when I say that this particular fix is easy - only two ingredients!
You may or may not know this but strawberries can actually lighten teeth and remove discolorations.

From Wikipedia:
The Strawberry Shortcake line of characters each had their own fruity or dessert-themed name with clothing to match, and they each had a dessert- or fruit-named pet. Like the Strawberry Shortcake doll, all the other characters' dolls had hair scented to match their dessert theme. The characters lived and played in a magical world known as Strawberryland.
