My chef friend sent me these pics of whole roast pig he cooked at a family reunion on Sunday. I thought the pics were too cool and had to share with you...even if some may be grossed out by the pig's face. Unfortunately I did not get to eat any of the tasty pork although I was told that it was magnificent. The pig was cooked in a typical roasting box called a caja china. I've only ever had whole roast pig once when I was in Spain and it was delicious.

I tried pork from a whole pig once, but I made the mistake of looking at its face as I was chewing. I about choked and it took some pretty hard concentration to swallow it.
2My aunt had a roast pig at her wedding years ago, but I was too freaked out to try some.
3At the New Years party in Jamaica they had that roasted suckling pig and it was delish!!!! they didn't serve me the ears though

5oh wow this brings me back to my childhood-my dad would host these yearly "Pig Roasts" where he would roast a whole pig on a skewer and throw a huge party. It was awesome-until the 2nd year when it became tradition to steal MY sunglasses to cover the pig's eyes while roasting! Sure, I was the one who insisted on it cause I didn't want to be subjected looking at those dead lifeless eyes while it was cooking, but I never thought it would lead to yearly confiscation of my sunglasses!

7Last summer, went I went to Italy again to see my family, we had 60 people coming over so we did that.

9Mmmmmmmm, I agree Yum -- adorable and delicious. But in the end, mostly delicious.
