Went on a third date with the irresistibly handsome Mr. I'minlikewithyou and had the most amazing fish dish at Aziza a Moroccan place and Stanlee Gatti's favorite restaurant. I had heard that the service was bad, but we sat at the bar and had a wonderful intimate time and shared a bottle of Rhone.

Looks delicious (minus the olives, lol)! I love saffron in dishes, but I hardly ever use it since it's so pricey.
1"I know wynter. My Spanish "mother" gave me a huge container of it that she picked up in Morocco and I brought it back home with me.
2yum! it looks like the bottom part of a tangine..i wonder how they cooked it, did you taste any lemon in it? i really wish i had a tangine...those things are so darn cool.
Ooooooooooooh are we going to learn more about this Mr.Iminlikewithyou?

haze1nut: I'm working on finding you a recipe, stay tuned!
5I haven't been able to modify this or try it out myself but you could give it a go and make a dish based off of the following recipe and inspired by the dish I had at Aziza. Substitute green olives for the black and parsley for the basil. Instead of making mashed potatoes cut the potatoes into thin circular slices and boil than arrange on the baking sheet to create a bed for the fish and cook in the oven with the fish. I think it will work well. Good luck!
6i'm going to use my dutch oven for this, i don't know if i'll make the ragout but i'll do the potatoes and saffron broth and i'll add some white one to replace some of the stock and then have some green olives and parsley simmering in that. preheat the oven, put the seasoned halibut steaks on top of the stuff in my dutch oven, cover, and set it in the oven and cook for however. maybe i'll add some tomatoes? not sure yet, yay! i'll post pics later. i'm going to make a cauliflower risotto and shrimp to go with this
7lol i meant white wine

9i love love moroccan food and this one looks so yummy, will definately try this place next time visiting SF....
