The night after my minor brush with someone close to a celebrity, I had a major encounter with some delicious food. This time (as opposed to the rest of the yumness I have enjoyed), I sucked it up and took pictures of everything. The things I do for you, Yum Girls...
.
Seven of us sat down for the feast, which consisted of (these are mostly just guesses, hopefully it will be easy to match photos with my haphazard descriptions):
1. Pickled tofu, zucchini, and peppers of some sort (see how eloquent this is going to be?), served cold.
2. Something which resembled beef salami (apparently it's very popular)
3. Even after eating the neon green vegetable-ish dish I have no clue what it was. It was mainly flavorless.
4. Fried prawns with sweet and sour sauce. My favorite (other than the main event, obvs).
5. Fish. Uhh...it was good? I don't think I have a future as a food writer. Damn me for not taking pictures of the menu. Baby steps in figuring this out.
6. The Coup de Gras: Peking Duck. Presented to us in full body form, then taken away to be carved. We ate it coupled with scallions and the hoisin sauce (which Kjell pleasantly described as "viscous") wrapped up in delicious pancakes. I can't describe taste (clearly) but, for lack of a better description: drool.
7. The Duck came with a side dish of Bok Choy and Mushrooms. I mostly ignored mine because I was in Duck Tunnel Vision and stomach room was not to be wasted, but it was pretty good.
8. There were dumplings. I did not take a picture. (Duck Coma.)
Okay, I SUCK at writing about food or remembering what I eat. Tonight we're eating at a private kitchen. I will take notes...

EWWWWWW, I have made it a rule not to eat anything that can taste me back. That is kinda gross.
1awww moll, you're being too tough on yourself. You did the meal justice, but I'm holding out for a picture of kjell eating a fish eye. No really.
good meal to work off during the morning escalator commute.
2Ok Molly, I hate to break it to you, but the picture of the thinnly sliced meat looks very much like pigs ear. When I was last in HK I was happily munching on something VERY similar, and I said to my Aunt, mmm what it this? I've since learnt NEVER to ask, if it tastes good just shut up and eat, because I never like the answer, which in this case was pigs ear..mmm..your picture just brought back that memory because it looks the same!!
3wow, those pancakes are thin! i'm used to those little round dough pancakes that look like part of a bun. but man, that looks delicious.
and pig ears are tasty! no problem with that:P
4I love duck. Mmm. Crispy skin.
5hmmmm delish! I have no restraints about eating animals with their face still on, but hubby would flip hahahaa

Molly you are amazing, this looks delicious! And I know how you feel my family gives me so much sh*t for taking tons of food pics!
7When I was in Beijing, we had Peking Duck served the same way. Absolutely delicious. It takes forever to make.
We also had sweet and sour fish that looked like it was a blooming onion with a head attached. It was really tasty.
8I find it difficult to eat meat. If it slightly resembles it's former form, there is no way.
